# Why future-proof supply chains is the only way to go

 Topics: [Strategy](https://brains.wdp.eu/en/energy-at-your-service/blog/tag/strategy)

Sustainable supply chains are the backbone of a sustainable economy. They can make the difference between waste and efficiency, between stagnation and growth, between discrimination and inclusion, between hunger and health, and between poverty and prosperity. Which is exactly why we commit to doing whatever we can to futureproof the warehousing and logistics industry.

Playing a pioneering role in the global fight against climate change and becoming fully climate-neutral by 2050 is WDP’s sky-high ambition.

**WDP ENERGY**
Leading the energy transition towards more renewable energy generation and optimised consumption

**WDP DECARB+**
Reducing GHG emissions and the environmental impact by becoming net-zero by 2050 (scope 1, 2 and 3)

**WDP GREEN**
Integrating sustainability in the development, financing and operations of the Group

When we launched our Climate Action Plan in 2021, we committed to installing a minimum of 250 MWp worth of solar panels on the roofs of our warehouses. This project is now well under way and we are installing around 100 MWp simultaneously on more than 75 buildings in Belgium, the Netherlands and Romania.
